“There is no unpolitical”

“There is no unpolitical” is, at best, the creed of a politics junkie that seeks to conscript you into his/her world of non-stop agressive political lecturing and verbal badgering, at worst an article of the faith of an aspiring politically-motivated thug looking for justifiable targets in a future violent rampage.

It is of the same mold as one of the political personalities that has arisen in the New Racial Consciousness aka ‘woke’ years of the late 2000s and into the 2010s, where this particular mode of thought was adopted by the fraudster Henry Rogers, better known as “Ibram X. Kendi” who made the “there is only Racist or Antiracist” his ideological stamp. To wit: There is only Myway or Thehighway. There is no Neutral ground.

This is a mode of thinking that fits like hand in glove with both cultists and Stalinist/Maoist dictators, and to the surprise of few, it is exactly the mode of thought for many a ‘woke’ person, though rarely as precisely spoken out.

And, Yes, it is of course found from the wall of one of the denizens of the Mastodon/Fediverse, which is chock full of this kind of person.

Somewhere in the heavens, they are waiting

On this day, thirty years ago, on the 21st of December 1994, Bungie Software released the action game called Marathon for the Macintosh line of computers. It went on to become a smash hit series, later followed by Marathon 2 (1995), Marathon Infinity (1996) and a number of fan-made expansions such as Marathon Rubicon, Marathon EVIL and several others.

Marathon’s and thus Bungies success laid the foundation for what was internally codenamed ‘Project BLAM’ which turned into the next success story of Bungie, namely Halo: Combat Evolved early in the 2000s, which led Microsoft to acquiring of Bungie with the intention of releasing the game solely for it’s upcoming X-BOX game console. Halo was however eventually released on both the Mac OS X and Windows as well.

The truth will out

As they say, the truth will out.

I’ll add that a truth supressed will make it out of its confines eventually, and when it comes out, the result is explosive, especially so if its a truth supression has been one that has an entire society or nation as stakeholders.

The predominantly Democrat-aligned US Legacy media has begun the recriminations for the major loss over the past 48 hours that has not only handed the Ovel Office back to Donald Trump who has been a target of at least four years of lawfare (some justified, some less so), but also the Senate and possibly also the House (commonly known as Congress). This is on top for a Conservative majority in the US Supreme Court (“SCOTUS”). In effect, if the GOP/US Conservatives can avoid falling into infights, they have the US lawmaking process sealed up and under their control for at the very least two years, but likely for the entire second term of Trump.

Now, where was I… the legacy media of the US press has begun pointing at Biden for sowing the seeds of defeat by failing to admit his own frailty and handing over the reins to a different candidate sooner. This is certainly true, but it’s a very incomplete truth, since it neglects to admit to their own culpability in participating in the lie. It wasn’t until the catastrophic debate performance in spring where the lie was impossible to cover up anymore that the talking heads, persons of influence in and around the Democratic party elite, and corporate donors panicked, since their orchestrated gaslighting campagn, which viciously smeared anyone suggesting that Biden was increasingly frail and unsuited for office, was a “far-right disinformation peddler” (etc etc ad nauseam).

After an intense week of crisis meetings and hand-wringing over the reality of Bidens senility, they finally started the process of replacing him, but in doing so at so late a stage they forsook the US democratic core institution of Party Primaries, ie. an internal party referendum as to deciding who the next presidaential candidate should be. Kamala was unsurprisingly picked as THE candidate, which alianated many core people and votes of the Democratic Party, for good reason. It was a soft “coup” that overrode the established democratic process of the USA thoughout two centuries. Nearly unprecedented, and it was again strongly indicative of the elite/inner party cabal rule that has infested the DNC for many years, this time come to a head.

Here we are, ~four months later, the results are in: Even though burning through *a billion dollars* on campaign funding (also a record in term of fundraiser efforts if I’m not mistaken), strongly pushing Harris as the female person-of-colour, multi-ethnic candidate which ticks all the boxes for the Democratic faithful, they handed themselves a devastating loss for the simple reason that she was an unworthy, blank-slate and verbally bumbling candidate which left most people scrating their heads in befuddlement how she could at all have made it to the next-highest slot in the world.

The Democratic party will realistically not be able to recover from for several years, even assuming that the DNC has a willingness to reform and performs a complete house cleaning that will root out the unchallenged elite backstage infuence into the party and its politicians, and revitalises a grassroots basis of the party and its stale culture of centrally dictated, “diversity” heavy adherence (dare I say this is the default profession faith of the US center-left?).

Does the DNC organisation and the constitutents have this willingness for party and internal cultural reform? Frankly, I doubt it. The culture of “blame the other bad guy” is simply too strong.

In any case, I congratulate The United States of America and all of its engaged citizens on continuing its working democratic culture of the nation of over 300 million people and maintaining a functioning democracy, even though the last several years has shown cracks and weaknesses, which must be kept in awareness and mended if the US is to last another fifty years, let alone the 250 years following the upcoming 250 years National Anniversary om the 4th of July 2026.

Americans, I wish for you the best. Go forth and do good for your fellow men and women. God bless.

Maintain your sanity

Dear everyone.

We live in crazy times. The world as a whole seems increasingly chaotic, the society close to us & around us even more so. There’s numerous people all around that have seemingly nothing better to do than spew their usually nuance-bereft opinions about the world out like it was unchallengable, god-given fact, and besides act like they’re insane (which, having read the dominant form and tone of the society-related discourse on Twitter for the past five years, is actually quite possible).

No, it’s no conincidence that I post this note on this specific date of days, but without going into details of the circumstances, my message to you that read this, is this:

One: As a sole individual and commoner of society, there’s an infinitesimally small influence you can possibly play on the political situation in the whole of your nation, by your actions or words. Don’t behave as if it’s the case that you can shift more than the tinyest of pebbles by what you say and do.

Two: In my decades-long experience with ground-level political life, there’s very few people of those you are surrounded by, that genuinely care about your political opinions outside of topic-specific circles. The majority of people don’t and would rather not hear them at length, and only tolerate them out of passing interest or politeness. Most people care about appearance and “vibes”; not fact or nuance, and certainly not your detailed opinion. You may not want to hear this out of pride, but it’s the truth for the absolute majority of people.

My point of this is that, again as a commoner, for both your own peace of mind and for the sake of others, you should treat the political hubbub that inevitably surrounds you on election year as little more than a different sort of football game; you may indeed have one specific team you’re cheering for, but it’s best if you don’t get into shouting matches or exchanging blows with the opposite team’s fans. It serves no good; it’s a massive waste of energy; in extreme cases, it may even cause some form of harm.

Maintain. Your. Sanity.

On price controls

Price controls is an inhibition of market function.

Market function delivers information to market participants and other humans.

Cutting off information flow leaves others ignorant, incapable of making informed decisions.

In a word, perhaps a cliché,, it makes society poorer.

My Father

Had my father still been alive on this day, he would have turned 80 years of age. That is perhaps not a major feat in this day and age, but it would be a formidable achivement for the absolute majority of the time that humanity has been an extant species.

Words can barely express how I miss him and would like him to still be with my family today. I miss his experience of the rough world and his life growing up in the years after the second world war, his ability to do and to make and bring home with barely a complaint even when the times were hard on him, his decent and good style of parenting, his support during difficult times, his experienced sailor’s wit and humor…

You never know when those you love and are close to are taken from you for whatever reason. It often seems to come at an unexpected (and certainly unwelcome!) time. Therefore, give love and honor your parents in ample amount, because they brought you into this often hostile world at great cost to themselves. If your relationship with your parents is difficult, then at least do your best to mend the ties.

If (No, When!) you lose a parent, you will lose a part of yourself; you will lose their knowledge of the world before you came into it. You will lose access to their memories and wisdom and wit, and it can never be quite reanimated from text or audiovisual recordings or the like. You will lose their living perspective, their ability to put their view of the world into words that mean something to you.

You will lose a bridge to your self.

Written in loving memory of Carsten Bjørn Perlsø (b. Hansen); 1944-2001.

Free Speech

Denial of free expression is prima facie intolerance of human expression of opinions; when speech is suppressed, resentment brews, and when speech is outlawed, extremism is kindled and violence follows not far behind.

Whatever noble goal or intent of non-offensive public behavior you think you further by supressing freedom of expression (of others), you are not freed from this causal fact, or the fact that *you* are supporting what leads to worsening societal discord and ultimately violence.
